The Vacuum Dilemna?

Oct13

This post brought to you by BISSELL Homecare, Inc.. All opinions are 100% mine because I honestly, love this vacuum and it’s hard to find a good one for a great price.

As I walked away from the checkout line, I’m sure that poor old man shook his head and thought, “Now wasn’t that an interesting conversation. Wow, she sure was excited about that vacuum.”

You see, I just couldn’t help myself from letting that dear man and his wife know what I thought about that new vacuum they were contemplating because I had JUST used mine and fallen quickly in love.

Can you fall in love with a Vacuum? Is that possible?

Well, obviously in our little country Walmart, this man assumes it is because I expressed over and over just how easy his new BISSEL vacuum would be for them to use with the swivel steering, how handy the detachable base would come in when he needed to maneuver corners and stairs, as well as how the price point couldn’t be beat.  Yes, I told him all that right there in our little Walmart because it was the neighborly thing to do and if I didn’t tell him my honest opinion, who would?

Remember last week when I shared our Kids Deep Clean bedroom checklist? I told you we had LOTS of work to do getting ready for our house guests and how our new vacuum would come in handy?  Remember how I shared I collect vacuums, as in, I have had four at one time and spent lots of money on nicer ones.

Well, I am telling you that this BISSEL Powerglide Pet is the BOMB!!  My girls were fighting for who got to use it first.

Then when I tasked our son with the stairs, his first reaction was, “That thing is really cool.” He didn’t even complain. Not one little bit. Do you see how it just lifts off the base to make odd places and stairs so easy?

Now, I know the newness will wear off, but I’ll take it while I can get it.

I am still in shock that it stands up to the claim that it takes care of our animal hair like it does, and I didn’t have to morgage the house.

Since I consider you a friend if you’ve spent any amount of time here on my blog, and I know you understand my bedlam,. I am about to show you something a little shady.. You need to know that I love to vaccum and do so regularly. My carpet looked clean. It really did, so this kind of grosses me out, but it’s super impressive to see what was picked up from a relatively clean looking carpet.

And lastly, I’ve spent hours in the past attempting to sweep every knook and cranny of our new porch, along with the naughty hay messes that our dogs created. I never would have thought to use the vacuum, but it was the perfect solution. I could get in between the spindles easily, as well as reach cobwebs that creep up over night, right down to the window panes. It was a win-win.

And now it’s time for you to win!!

  1. We have only ever had one. The last one died after eating a sock or two, and we looked at reviews before we made our choice. It still has good suction after about 10 years, so I’m pleased.

That is SO great!! Ten years is a long time. That’s how I was with our original purchase from when we first got married. We bought a good one and it lasted fifteen years, but then we’ve had a few others that only lasted 2-3 years. I still have them but need to get rid of them. 🙂

I recently bought a Bissell PowerClean MultiCyclonic vacuum. I am not one to complain, and we did a ton of research before buying it but I feel like I wasted $200. I’m sure it’s a great vacuum, and it does pick up well, but here are the problems we’re having: 1. We have a new area rug which is a long shag pile. It does not work on it! Even if I raise the level of the beater to high carpet, it get stuck and stops the beater. If I turn off the beater and just use the vacuum it doesn’t pick up and it is so hard to push my back is killing me afterward. There was no mention of this problem in any reviews we read. and 2. it is very bulky and doesn’t maneuver well under and around furniture. So, I have either wasted the money on the vacuum, or I’ve wasted the money on a new area rug which I can’t vacuum and is getting dirty with 2 cats and a dog. I’ve been very frustrated! We bought the vacuum through an Amazon dealer, so we are stuck with it. I mean, who wants to accept a (gently) used return vacuum? 🙁

    Jen Reply:

OH NO!! I would be so frustrated as well. I wonder if it could be on the part of the dealer? Did it comes in the original Bissel packaging because they should have a year warranty. There’s nothing worse than a bulky vacuum and that is one of the reasons I love this one, even my ten year old can easily maneuver with it. I would contact Bissel directly. The only problem may be that their warranty is null and void through Amazon? I have no idea but worth a shot,.
